A worn nozzle throws a crooked pattern before it ever drips visibly. The fan angle, the orifice size, the thread and the mesh count upstream all determine whether a part fits and works — not just whether it screws on.

Fan angle

Flat-fan tips carry a rated spray angle of 80°, 110° or 120°, measured at 15 psi. A worn tip narrows that angle long before it drips at the seat.

Thread

Most caps thread onto an 11/16-18 UN body. Cross-threading a plastic cap over a stainless one, worn oval from years of wrenching, is our most common support call.

Orifice size

Stamped on the tip body as a three-digit code. It sets flow rate at a given pressure. Order the wrong digit and the whole boom runs off rate, not just one nozzle.

Mesh count

Printed on the outside of every filter bag we ship. 50 mesh covers most herbicide work; fine-orifice nozzles want 100 mesh upstream or they clog every tank.
